ITS teachers are sent to seminars and conferences to enable them to become more effective teachers in class. Grade meetings and language workshops are also conducted periodically for the same purpose.
ITS Conducts IT Workshops
International Tuition School (ITS) recently conducted two IT (Information Technology) workshops on 22 and 29 March 2016 for its teachers and office staff in its quest to upgrade teaching and office work in the school.
With the two workshops, it is hoped that ITS teachers will be able to enchance their computer skills and aid their research and lesson preparation works whereas the office staff will also be able to upgrade their office information technology skills to better serve parents and students alike.
As part of our teacher development programme, 4 senior staff members were sent to the 19th Malaysian English Language Teaching Association (MELTA) International Conference held at Four Points Sheraton, Kuching from 17 – 18 June 2010. The theme for the conference was ‘Transformations in English Language Education : Vision, Innovation, Implementation’. Sharing sessions with other teaching staff members were held after that to give teachers a better insight into education policies, classroom teaching and the needs of our students.
CREATIVE WRITING WORKSHOP
On 5 July 2010, the school held a ‘creative writing’ workshop for its teachers facilitated by Mr. Robert Raymer, an American author. Raymer, who resides in Malaysia is the winner of 2009 Popular-The Reader’s Choice Awards for his collection of short fiction stories, ‘Lovers and Strangers Revisited’. His short stories had also been published in 10 countries, taught in universities and college, SPM literature and used by Cambridge International Examinations. His workshop for ITS teachers provided them with insights of teaching and creative writing for their students, while providing better framework as writing facilitators in the classrooms for future writing lessons.
